CITI Program: Enhancing Training and Compliance

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) is committed to supporting the training and compliance needs of colleges and universities, promoting integrity and professional growth among learners.

UDM Community Access: Through OSPRA, the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) offers these courses free of charge to its community. Available courses include the Conflict of Interest course and discipline-specific courses for biomedical, social & behavioral research, physical sciences, humanities, engineers, and administrators.

Mandatory Conflict of Interest Course: All UDM members seeking research or program funding (grants, subawards, contracts, UDMPU Faculty Research Awards, etc.) must complete the CITI Program Conflict of Interest course.

Research Involving Human Subjects: All university members conducting research involving human subjects must complete the CITI Program Social/Behavioral Researchers training and obtain Institutional Review Board (IRB) authorized exemption or approval. If your research includes minors, neonates, prisoners, educationally or economically disadvantaged persons, pregnant women, individuals with dementia, or other vulnerable groups, reach out to the IRB Chair.

Course Structure:

  • Courses can be completed over multiple sessions.
  • Quizzes follow the reading material.
  • Upon successful completion of required modules, a Course Completion Report is available for printing.
